For my first character in Torment I rolled a mana-based, non-crit, dual-curse Witch with EB/AA, Discipline, Clarity, Purity of Elements, and Herald of Ice. Given that v1.3 let defensive auras affect totems, I thought we were entering the League of Flame Totem. I've yet to have a Flame Totem build really succeed and I've tried it 3 times now in different leagues. Last time (Beyond), i used Searing Bond in the beginning but it's not really a fun skill, so maybe there's a good alternative? :)īlood Magic tank is the only one worth doing, in my experience. Group viability is a nice bonus but not essential.Īlso, i am wondering if anyone can suggest a good skill for the first 31 levels. Thank you in advance for your help, i'm very much looking forward to your input on this! :)Įdit: I forgot to mention this: I am looking for a solo build. In other words: I have some ideas, lots of questions and still very, very few answer. (Still, a crit totem build starting out as shadow would be kinda cool, if it worked out.) (This would limit the available classes more or less to Witch/Templar/Scion).Ĭrit still sounds intriguing but i suppose it might be hard to make that work. Since i could get my totem survivability with Purity of elements, i guess i could mostly ignore the lower part of the tree and focus on the witch/templar area. Right now, even though a BM marauder will surely work, i tend more towards a mana build with some auras/heralds. ![]() Most likely, this question will answer itself once the rest has been solved but i thought, i'd still write it down.Īlso depending on the other questions but i should already add it to the list. Usually the more specialised nodes are stronger but depending on which supports and possible auras/heralds i use, ele or even spell dmg might be more effective in the end. Also, what about heralds? Are there any limitations on using them with totems? (Could Ancestral Bond even nullify some of their dmg?)įire Damage vs Elemental Damage vs Spell Damage. While BM is always nice, especially if combined with high life and life regen, i'm wondering if a mana version wouldn't possibly be better because of the auras i could run that way.Īre auras worth it at all? If so, which ones? Offensive Auras might not be the worst idea and since defensive auras work with totems now too, it might also be a good idea to get Purity of Elements and save some points on totem defensive nodes. I'm tending towards non-crit because crit + MF gear is always a bit problematic but on the other hand, i am wondering whether it would also be possible to make a crit build work by using a Herald of Lightning + Curse on Hit combo to get a decent amount of power charges. ![]() To be a bit more specific about where i'm currently unsure, these are the questions i need to solve: I know, there are a couple of guides for builds like that but so far, i haven't found one that has fully convinced me, mostly because they all seem to have been made for prior patches and even though i've found some 1.3 trees, they were only "updated for 1.3" and not crafted from scratch considering the new options we got. As stated in the title, i am looking for a good MF-DFT build to get started in Bloodlines.
